A ship in the harbour is safe ...but thats not what ships are for

An egg has a hard covering on the top to protect the life growing inside it, but at the same time its delicate to handle as one slight trigger to it sends it a crack....
The little new born birds need to be protected from the outside world, till they get the strength to see and walk on their own as later, they need to face and live the life on their own....
Expensive gems or gold need to be kept safely from the thieves, as once lost its hard to earn it again...
A ship is anchored in the harbour to keep it safe and locked, but that is not the real persona of the ship....
Parents who have a girl child need to be extra protective about their daughter, from the evil eyes of the world outside and keep her away from all and take care like a delicate glass....

There are so many things in Life which need to be safely preserved and taken care of. But does it really need so much attention? Do such things really need to be looked after?

Yes, certainly!  would be the answer of any person but the extra care and extra attention towards anything makes that thing depend on that care always..
Give that thing or person a bit freedom and let it experience things in life on its own...
Yes, the care and safety has to be taken but without the knowledge of that person...

An infant takes its first steps holding the finger of the parent but will slowly start walking on its own... Will stumble in the start with the new steps it has just learned to take, but few trip downs will help the child to take firm steps slowly....
Unless the child falls down and gets hurt it will not understand what pain means, what it means to get hurt and what is a wound..
The more you worry or take care of the child, the more it depends on you and knows that you there to catch hold if at all it falls. But this makes the child weak and not learn and understand and make use of its own senses.

If a ship has to be kept in the harbour, its creation is futile....Same way, life is pointless living if every person starts being scared and always need to be protected..

Another nice one..u cud have also talked abt matters of heart espicially while ending the piece..How long can one keep it safe protected and not making it fall for someone?

There's a dialogue in dirtypicture( there are several such gems anyhow)...."Har aadmi ke liye ek aurat hain, agar ussey bach gaye toh samjo zindagi bach gayee"..thats pure protection.
Thank you for your comments. May I know your name please? Yes I wanted to also add about love but felt let the topic stick to childhood as it would had been endless to write on heart matters :))))

Hey this is some really good post!!
It is true that one should not be over protective at the same time if too much freedom is provided at an age when the kid does not have enough common sense, it can lead to some damage. My parents let me play on the road so that i will fall and learn pain. I never burnt my hand but i know it pains. Parents should be worried about their kids till they develop that common sense and they have the right to be worried. Yes it is some serious issue if they are worried about you when you are old enough to be on FB. What say??
Thank you for your comments. May I know your name please? It's parents who need to understand and be vigilant towards kids but not so much that the kids feel they have a constant camera to record its every move and starts hiding and not being friendly with parents but scared of them. Rather a friendly cum strict approach would help teach kids basic moral values and make them think logical by themselves slowly..

Developing India! Is it really?

After a long time, I got some food for thought post a conversation with an age-old uncle who wailed like his fellow allies against the cacophony during Ganpati visarjan to rising inflation, corruption, current generation, importance of money over relations etc. To some extent I couldn’t agree more to his crux of the conversation. So pen down my thoughts here. “Arey chalo aage! Utro utro!” (Move ahead, get down get down) are some famous words we hear every day in our lives or rather live with them. Every single day in Mumbai is a struggle and is moving at a super fast pace. Routine life for a working employee is; wake up in the morning, complete morning chores, leave for work (or to put in  a better way - run for work) reach work, strive hard, rush back home, have dinner and sleep for another day repeating the entire routine. Most of you readers would agree with this and few defy it. But still this is the life of a Mumbaikar amongst majority. Everything is happen

What's Commitment!!

Commitment!!! The most dreaded word of all....Be it for any purpose, be it relationship, work, studies, pay your dues, etc...What exactly does it mean to commit? Does it mean to make a promise? Does it mean you are obliged to someone or something? Or is it that you are responsible for your commitment you make? What exactly does it mean? Yes, all the above mean the same, but then why is it such a scaring fact to commit? When you take a loan from a bank, a friend or any money lender you commit to pay back the amount in a stipulated time period upon a pre-decided agreement and you struggle and try your best to pay back. When you are studying you commit to achieve a particular grade at a particular stage and you struggle for it. When you are at work you are paid for a particular job, and you are committed or atleast expected to be committed to your work and so you try to prove yourself and achieve your set targets. When you have a family you are committed to every particular individual in
